Uncle Sam (initials U.S.) is a common national personification of the American government or the United States in general that, according to legend, came into use during the War of 1812 and was supposedly named for Samuel Wilson but whose actual origin may be obscure. Uncle Sam represents a manifestation of patriotic emotion (of people in America for the country in which they live).
AGREE W/THEODOREREX: It should be a BIG DEAL .. we should never have to learn that innocent people have been killed any where in the world because of extremist. Sadly, this may never end so my heart goes out to anyone who suffered at the hands of people who have been guided to 'drink the kool aid'.
Yeah, frenchie, how is this sexist? Cause all i see is one symbol of america comforting a symbol of the american dream, who as most know was a gift from France. Obviously she's distraught because of the recent attacks. This is not sexist. It is showing how we care for others in that we as Americans comfort others when they need it.
