Its not 100% but the rumors are coming from many sources. So I wouldn't be surprised. Its supposed to be so the iPhone can be even thinner.

And not because they just spent $3 billion buying a headphone brand

Why are people obsessed with having a phone that is thinner? It will only make it break easier

^^Exactly. Wasn't there a big scandal over how thin the iPhone 6 was when it first came out...like it kept bending in people's pockets or some shit? So why would they want to make it even thinner???

It wasn't the thickness it was the material. The 6s is the same thickness but had much more regidity thanks to a higher quality build material.

Then what would be the purpose.

Also they are making headphones that are plugged in through the charging port

But that would mean you can't listen to music through headphones/earbuds while the phone is charging, and that would absolutely suck.

And you'd only be able to use those specific headphones. What if you have your own pair already?

Proprietary addons make more money because you'll also have to buy new headphones every time you upgrade your phone.

Android can be of different OEMs, have you tried all of em yet? Trust me all androids are not slow. I own a same phone since 2 years, it's nowhere near slow.@emilyinacan

They've been working on wireless headphones/ ear buds that sync to the phone through Bluetooth.

What'll you bet that they have to be special "Apple" headphones to work?

Blehh, I don't even use my headphones anyways.

You don't, but I do. Running or biking with music is much better. This is an ignorant way to replace 3.5mm.

they were saying the phones gonna have a thinner headphone jack like those skinny plugs

Who cares? Bluetooth headphones are better and don't tangle.

Unless you like high fidelity audio that doesn't cut out like Bluetooth can.

If wireless headphones are going to be the only possibility for apple, then they better be very good. I have listened to many different brands of wireless headphones, and they all share a very noticeable delay on them. That delay messes up watching a youtube video.

YESSS, most of them suck

Sounds similar to the whining about CD's and DVD's and cassette platers going away. Newer is usually better.

If this is true then they better still include a new pair of headphones that work with their phone with the new phone....

Do you want low space because of tons of useless built in apps, battery draining internet, and shitty pictures?Because Androids how you get them

Really? That's not how android works. The fastest android phones can keep up with the iPhone 7 plus while giving more in content. And most androids have bigger and better batteries.
