It's a good idea to clean any thing before consuming it. You wouldn't eat an apple without washing first, right? Same goes with water. Usually, tap water comes from either a reclaimation plant or an underground well.

Honestly I do both. I was just saying bottled water is a scam and it's cheaper from the tap.
