My family pays more taxes than the average Swede, my dad never complains.. he thinks of it as still paying of my medical bills from when I was born.. Both me and my brother goes to university for free, and receives monthly grants as we are students.. in fact all education is free, even private education, dental was free until 19, medical is almost free (may have to pay a fee of equivalent 10 USD when visiting the doctors), we have great public transportation, when you have a child you can stay home for 1.5 years with almost full pay.. yeah I know its not a popular opinion here but Im pretty okay with our high taxes.. as long as they don't make them even higher..
Yep. Very true. We in America are quite free to work hard and maybe be a millionaire some day. We are equally free to live in abject poverty, be hungry, be a victim of someone's second amendment rights, or even to work our entire lives away only to lose it all when our company folds or by going into medical care for 4 days. We are so free we get to watch people have to decide if they are going to buy their medication or their food... they can't do both this time so there's a freedom of choice issue, eh? We are so very free to watch our government go kill other people using our young people, call it patriotic to make others rich in the process of spilling our own blood on the sands of some foreign land, then come home to a country that - having given us the opportunity to serve and give everything - is not interested in helping us eat, have housing, get medical care and psychiatric care. Ah, yes.. the freedom!
America is not purely capitalist. A purely capitalist system would mean no government regulations in business at all. Quite a lot of my fellow Americans seem to equate socialism to communism- this is not the case. Pure communism and pure capitalism are both bad in practice- socialism is somewhat in the middle. Also, socialism and democracy are not really in the same category, so please don't compare our ability to choose our leaders to our government's ability to regulate business.
Fuck that. You pay it back in taxes triple. People don't understand that when you take from the government, you have to give back one way or another. If not now then later. TINSTAFL
No thanks.
