Why?

I think it's so the change doesn't go everywhere? It falls easier sometimes into the floor. I try to always give it separately to avoid it...but it usually doesn't matter which is first.

This never bothered me, the coins weigh the bills down anyway.

Then stop putting the money on the damn counter where I have to slide the fucking change

*ignoring open hand* let me sit these twelve pennies here... I mean, I'd even be fine if they'd put it on the bills they lay on the counter. Then I just slide it all.

I never do this, and I hate when cashiers do this to me.

They have to x.x if they don't, then call them on it. They either pocket it, or their drawer will be off when they go to clock out and they can get in trouble. Either way, that adds up cast, and you deserve every penny of your change back

yeah for real i dunno where you are shopping to have this problem because those pennies should add up and fuck up their drawer and get them in trouble!

Most places (that I've worked cashier at) allow a leeway of +/- $3.00 in the drawer because things do happen, although rare people do occasionally abandon their change. Now deliberately withholding change is wrong of the cashier and if they don't correct it immediately you have every right to ask to speak to a manager!

I've done this for years and some people get annoyed at me for it. Not everybody likes their money given to them this way so just do whatever is easier for you. Ducks don't have a say because they don't have hands to take the money.

They also don't have jobs and don't support the economy. Awful creatures really.

What I always hated as a cashier was these people who pay for a $1 soda with a fifty or hundred dollar bill when they clearly have a crap load of ones in their wallets.

My mom usually tells them to keep the coins if we're at a Dunkin Donuts or something since they usually have tips jars, so it's probably better the other way around if you like to do that sort of thing.

It is easier for custumer to have coins first. As a cashier you count bills and hand them first easier :/

Late comment; but I'd say the reverse - it's easier for me to keep track if I received the correct change by getting the dollar bills first, then the coins.
