That's what I was gonna say.
My lady friends and I constantly tell each other we love each other, yelling mostly, we hug, we lay on each other's laps, when one is cold we hold their hands to warm them up.
I've watched this happen for years with my non-school choir. We just.... Do. We're all very close, even with this girl that came from either Norway or Poland (I forget...) as an exchange student and decided to try out for our choir.
So true. Me and my best friends are just totally okay with holding hands while watching LOTR because of how cute Aragorn is, fixing each other's swimsuit when it gets tangled etc etc. It's more ok for girls than for guys I guess, but then again it's not always without consequences. Once I was at a music festival/concert with my friend. We're not very touchy-huggy people so we didn't even high five, hug or basically anything. However, a guy asked us for a drink, and when we declined because he was obviously already drunk and also very sleazy and annoying, he immediately assumed we're lesbians. It's funny how some people's ego makes them see things that aren't there instead of accepting the truth.

"You seem to be very good friends"
And you wonder why people don't think you guys are in a relationship...
Guys: I like you. Not in that way... *awkward silence ensues*
