However... Given the fervor and vehemence that the Star Wars fandom has, I am surprised that it hasn't actually happened.
In my personal opinion, Boba Fett needs to return. George Lucas did in fact confirm that Boba survived the sarlacc pit from Episode 6 ("However, on July 16, 2014, Star Wars author and historian Jonathan W. Rinzler stated in a Reddit AMA that Lucas has said that Boba survived the sarlacc, though this has yet to appear in official new canon media." - Taken from the Wookieepedia page).
I am willing to wager that he will appear in episode 8 or 9, and, if he does, it will be downright awesome.
