They don't do this anymore. It's all digital. You usually fill out a form before you see the doctor that asks for your preferred pharmacy and everything is sent there directly. The few things that still require a prescription (narcotics) are printed out by an assistant or receptionist.

It's not always digital. The last prescription I had was hand written, just a few months ago.

my parents are doctors and they are well aware of this, but they do it to save time, that's the secret.
