Different kinds of essays with different expectations. You really can't compare the two.

I have to write an essay in an hour but then again I have AP English...

I only ever got 40 minutes in AP English. I feel cheated

I'm in AP English right now and for our big end of grading period exams, we had two hours to write two essays and answer 100 multiple choice questions. Ideally we would allot 40 minutes for each essay and 40 minutes for the multiple choice. I never even come close to finishing in time

I have and finished with an extra 30 minutes
