That's a thorny devil, native to Central Australia. I find them all the time, they're so awesome!

Fun fact: the cordylus giganteus (giant girdled lizard, sungazer, or giant dragon lizard) has actually been reassigned to a newly created genus, and is now called smaug giganteus. Awesome, yes?
