There was a time when pink was for boys (bright, masculine colour) and blue was for women (virginal colour) . . I Think this changed around Word War 1..
Acting in stereotypical feminine or masculine behaviors does make you a "woman" or a "man". It's ridiculous that liking certain types of clothing or colors, or being more exuberant has the ability to decide your gender.
That is the question isn't it?Because it's actually interesting that our brains don't have a gender, they are "neutral" at birth and we are taught to behave a certain way to fit into 'boy' or 'girl'. You can can Google it and the effects of gender conditioning if you want to to know more.
Actually there's significant data to suggest that male and female brains function significantly differently, and it's also reflected in people with gender dysphoria.
Shhhh garloc you can't say that! I jk. I respect and understant gay men are not women, obviously! However, some of the differences were initiated due to observation, nature, biology. Not just society. People that deviate from what it was consider the norm, well world and society are shifting. But a lot of the things people say now are gender descrimination are in fact biological/ nature facts (ex: females are more nurturing/have maternal instincts)
It is just like animals. They have female and male roles. Nobody is teaching them. Some claim some species show homosexual behaviors. Fine. Anyways humans are more complex and there will be differences but bithers me people say gender is all society. Mmm no.... look at animals they have different roles.
I agree with what your saying, and I do understand that animals (us included) will naturally perform behaviors suited to our physical structure. But it is my belief that, as itamemaria pointed out, we are very complex creatures, and currently in our present society it is society that is forcing these gender roles which have become unecessary to us or our survival. At one point we would have definitely benefitted from occupying strict roles and behaviours, it would've kept us alive. But currently there are only few roles which we "need" to keep, like a strong mothering connection between women and child when she's lactating. But things like a man being the "strong hunter" are not needed in a modern society, science technology and have allowed us to move away from the life and death need for these roles to be occupied and to me it's ridiculous to keep enforcing them.
Well put cap! True for the hunters and moms! That is why i found stupid the uterus transplants for men...it ia not that simple. Wonen are not just an oven
Agreed. Also just because we don't "need" it doesn't mean our species won't in the future. It's not that easy to unlearn hundreds of thousands of years of conditioning.
Pink isn't a feminine color. I know a perfectly straight man who loves the color hot pink. I would also know if he was gay because we are really, really close.
Okay not saying all...buuuut if some gay people I know want to stop being treated like women then they should stop wearing nail polish, wearing dresses, comparing themselves to women and stop acting like women! Your gay not transgender
Like I said, you can Google it.
>not expecting to be treated as such
