So not true at my college. Almost all my professors were very specific about format.

Mine just say MLA and APA. Not really strict at all about formatting. Most are focused on the content of it.

Wrong. Most of my professors (especially one philosophy prof) were very specific. That philosophy prof gave specifics on margins and font and spacing, and said he wanted a 2 page essay. And he meant 2 page. Like, fill to the final line on the 2nd page, but don't spill onto a third. And it all had to be relevant. Any b.s. filler and you got downgraded. It was a pain in the ass. But I became a better writer for it.

I spent weeks writing a paper I only got a B on because there was a couple minuscule citation errors... Oh and forget MLA colleges mostly use APA
