SOME, not all, but some animals have such bad health issues related to diet they need to be fed a vegan diet. It usually involves adding a lot of supplements too. Though I agree this isn't something to put an obligate carnivore (cats) on, without a vet telling you to do so.

Under a Vets prescription, by all means treat your pet a vegan diet till they're healthy again.
Vegans are entitled to eat whatever they please and I respect the reasons why they're vegan. Now that being said, if you own an animal and truly love it and want to never harm it, feed it correctly. If you don't and you hurt the little baby by feeding it a ridiculous diet, you should be charged with a class A felony and sent to prison, because starvation is torture and you're no better than someone who beats, starves, and brutally destroys any other animal.

didn't someone already kill their cat because they wanted it to be vegan?
I've heard of them near death, and the veterinarian saving them. So far I haven't heard anything about an animal dieing that was backed up by any real facts. Imo animals are that are carnivorous should be fed according to their natural diet. A loin kills to eat so do wolves, I don't think we have a right to treat domesticated animals any differently. Especially when it doesn't give them the nutrition they need.
