Yes-sir-ee. It is your country of origin. How do you think your country of origin changes within your family. I am as white as the white house and I'm african, born and raised
His mother filed the paperwork to fix that. His mother was an American, and then left Canada shortly after giving birth to him. To my knowledge, he was never acknowledged as an official Canadian citizen.
My grandparents (who are Norwegian) lived in Copenhagen for two years, and in that time, they gave birth to my mom. She lived in Denmark until she was one. But does that make her Danish? NO. Cruz is not Canadian just because he was born there during a time that his parents lived there. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he couldn't be running for president if he was a Canadian citizen at birth. You have to be born an American citizen to run.
"Cruz is not Canadian just because he was born there"
The exact opposite is true, he is literally a Canadian citizen because of exactly that.
"You have to be born an American citizen to run."
And he is because his mother is American.
He was technically born with dual citizenship. Since then he's surrendered his Canadian citizenship. His mother is a natural born American citizen and because of that he is granted American citizenship at birth, as well as Canadian because he was born there.
If someone was born in America, even if the parents aren't citizens, that person is automatically considered American even if that's not their heritage. So really why can't we say the same about Americans born in different countries?
Although I do think you can't call him Canadian if he had surrendered his citizenship there, which he has. However, had he kept his dual citizenship he would technically be canadian.
If one parent is American and you're born in another country, you acquire dual citizenship of both countries, but at some point I believe you're expected to declare yourself to be a citizen of one and renounce your citizenship of the other.
Could someone please explain to me as simply as possible.. Who is good.. Who is bad (except trump, thats obvious) and why? :) ill pay you in cyber hugs
Bernie wants to implement a Scandinavian style system of gov economically and is libertarian socially.
Clinton would be a mix of Bush and Obama with a domestic Obama and a foreign Bush
Cruz is a theocrat
Kasich is just Obama 2.0 surprisingly
Marco is a moderate social Republican but a normal neo-con on foreign and domestic issues.
You think that Trump is bad, but honestly, Hillary is worse. She was solely responsible for the deaths of the Americans in Benghazi, She knew the attack was going to happen and instead of sending a couple soldiers (to save American lives) she sent new China (plates). Also she is against the owning of guns, and not small handguns that compose 88% of shootings, she wants to ban the longarms (rifles/shotguns) that composed about 3 shootings in 2015. So in short, vote for new candidates because we are fucked either way
ISN'T.
CANADIAN.
HIS FATHER IS FROM CUBA AND HIS MOTHER IS AMERICAN
HE JUST HAPPENED TO BE BORN IN CANADA
BUT
HE
IS
NOT
CANADIAN
> not canadian.
Wut. Where you're born DOES actually determine your country of origin.
But he was never a Canadian citizen, nor does any of his ancestry come from Canada.
The exact opposite is true, he is literally a Canadian citizen because of exactly that.
