He is wrong. We have limitations. There are things that we can and can't do. No matter how hard you believe, how hard you try, how much time you put into it, and not matter how much you bleed, sweat, and cry, there are some things that we can never do.
I think it's true. And I really hate it when someone says "You have such a great talent!". Nope, it's not talent, it's my hard work. Please, stop giving all the credit to something that has nothing to do with it. I worked so hard on it, and that just makes me sound lazy... ;_;
It really isn't true, it is just meant to inspire people. It may take someone years of hard work to reach a level of proficiency, but there are thousands of people that will be able to reach that same level almost immediately without much effort. To be completely honest, if you do not have some natural talent in something, you are much better served by finding something you do have talent in and harness that. Being told you are talented is not the same thing as being told you are lazy.
Okay, yes. It is easier when you have a "talent" in something, but you can reach the same level anyway without talent, but (as you said) you'll need more time. Talent is helpful, but not necessary ;)
P.S. And thanks for the reply ^^
While working hard can definitely make a big difference, it will at best only put you on par with people that have talent and put in only moderate effort. It takes both natural talent and hard work to become one of the best; being half-assed in either will not make it.
This is true in my experience. Some people might be hard-wired to have an easier time with some things, but that doesn't make them able to achieve a higher level than anyone willing to work toward it.
Hard work? You collected unemployment because you didn't feel the need to hold down a job and train at the same time, much like many other fighters do. You even made it into a big sob story about how little you had and how hard it was to survive.
P.S. And thanks for the reply ^^
