They fucking hurt. The mature ones with fluffs on the bulb ends. The fluffs are actually really small needle-hairs that embed themselves into your flesh and it legitimately feels like holding that part just over a candle flame.

Also depends on the kind of tree. Multiple species of trees drop these little swirly things.
