Eh, I really just couldn't get through the Silmarillion. About halfway I just gave up.

The silmarillion rewrite on bettermyths.com is hilarious. I haven't read the book yet, but based on his rewrites of other books, I'm gonna say his silmarillion rewrite is pretty close to what happened

I love the LOTR/Hobbit and Tolkien lore but I must say it is a hard long read. It takes a special person who can binge read a Tolkien novel.
