Austin St. John (Jason) is part Native American and was the red ranger. I don't remember if the character had Native American roots too. I know Tommy did but he wasn't the red ranger until Zeo.
Racism:
"A belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race."
"The belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races."
"Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior."
Dressing a black character in a black costume is not racist, even if it is purposely done.
Okay, I agree with that last part, but it's not racist to believe that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or Superior to another race or races. It is racist to think you or someone else is better or inferior because of their race, but, you can clearly see, that most African-Americans can run faster, because of their Superior bone structure. The bone structure is just one thing, but I'm not willing to point out things in white people.
It's just colour
