I mean I've never actually been laughed at but I just feel people staring at me the entire time. Exercise is one of those things I just want to be alone doing because I have this constant feeling of being judged
People stare at each other at the gym it's true, but it's because EVERYONE there is so damn insecure why do you think they work out so much. The ripped dude with the 6 pack has an ego so fragile he can't be turned down or he'll be just as depressed as people who think they can't go cuz they'll get laughed at. .. use it as motivation. That's what's great about the gym, take everything you hate... Everything that bothers you and just use it to kick some fucking ass. I'm 6'0" 215 lbs and have been working out since I was 13, trust me bro if you show up and ask questions you'll get an entire support system you never knew existed. Just don't quit, don't ever quit. And if you're serious about it we can exchange emails I'll tell you how to get started so you don't hurt yourself or waste some money.
People don't make fun of fat people at the gym. People make fun of lugs at the gym, dudes who grunt and wear shirts that show their nipples. They make fun of people who grunt like they just came in their pants, they make fun of people who use the machines in such obviously dumb you shouldn't do that ways. But no one will make fun of someone who is trying to better themselves. I'm a meathead, and the one thing I've noticed is you get the best advice from meatheads. They've spent their whole lives trying to get to where they are and love helping people. Don't be ashamed, just get your ass to the gym
Never seen anyone get abused at my gym. Infact, we actively encourage others. You can't make fun of overweight people who are trying to better themselves
