We have something similar in the states. They detect radar guns, which cops just hold up in their cars to catch speeders.

Also detect laser speed detectors and speed cameras. It's a radar detector and it's the same thing they have in Australia and other countries. Some states in the u.s. they're illegal and some states they are legal

Well, I've never seen one detect speed cameras and we've had one for as long as I can remember. And, it's not illegal in any state in the US. Common misconception.

If you have them fixed to your windshield where the manufacturer suggest it is illegal in some states such as california and Minnesota yes some do detect speed cameras, I think you're thinking of red light cameras which some GPS enabled detectors can also detect. Also under federal law it is illegal to have one in a commercial vehicle over 10000 pounds

Oh, I thought you were saying all radar detectors could detect speed cameras. I get what you're saying now. Also, I fact-checked myself and the detectors are illegal in Virginia. Go figure.

No not all radar detectors are created equal some don't even detect laser. Even though, once your detector detects laser you're caught if you're speeding lol

If you're willing to risk it you can run laser jammers, but they're either illegal or very questionable to use

They are indeed illegal but if you're really into speeding it's worth it but if you're the average person who occasionally goes 5-10 over not worth the risk

A few months ago I was driving with some friends in a mustang with one of these. They were driving so fucking fast in that thing, but thanks to the speed camera we were able to to slow down whenever a cop was nearby.

No. Thanks to the radar detector. Speed cameras are used by the police to issue tickets

Wait aeacus is right, I said it wrong, it actually was a radar detector not a speed camera...

aeacus

No sorry needed at all lol its just that tanks don't normally have those items so you would have to add that also I mean the tracks that come on it are a given that you'd have to switch to rubber too

In the UK some sat navs do this, like tom-toms
aeacus

Just known speed cameras I'm not aware of a Tom Tom that has a radar detector built it

they don't need one because all camera locations in England are public to everyone (they can't hide them so there is no use for a radar detector)

Police don't use radar guns for speed traps there? Like sitting on the side of the road clocking people's speed?

There is a special thing you can put on your number plate, and when it detects a speed a camera flash at you IT FLASHES BACK AT IT SO IT DOESNT EGT YOUR PLATE NUMBER! Its really cool because it looks like there is nothing there

Clear tape works also
aeacus
No the tape is a myth not sure about the flash thing there was a spray that's supposed to make it glossy to glare it but that's a myth too

Mythbusters busted most of those theories. Nothing actually works without being 100% illegal.

Pretty sure that's what I said though

No, I don't think it is.
aeacus

Only thing I didn't do was say it was on myth busters... the flash thing I said I wasn't sure about was the spray... I said that was a myth I was saying I wasn't sure what the comments was talking about other than the spray. So yes it was neither of those work they are myths
