Most other places in the world do the sane, except in Australia I think we keep Africa in the middle

Literally every other countries use the map centered on Africa... Why would europeans use a map centered on America?

I've lived in the USA my whole life and I've never seen a map like this. The only ones we use (at least where I live) are the standard ones with Africa in the middle.

I'd like to second this. As a US citizen, I'll be the first to admit that our country can be incredibly self-centered, but I can't recall seeing a map centered this way. The break typically is placed in the Pacific.
