Actually, a while back there was a post about a lioness who had grown a mane. This picture is probably one such lioness, and a lion.

Nah dude you can get gay animals too. More likely they're gay than one has changed secondary sex characteristics.

I know, I've seen this post elsewhere, and someone in the comments section claimed that one of the lion's was actually a lioness. Just thinking out loud.

It was actually on national geographic 's snapchat the other day, the mane is likely because something wrong went down with the sex hormones in the developmental stage of the fetus (or something like that)

Actually the bottom one is a female, certain female lions can grow manes. The amount of affection they are showing is impossible for two male lions because they would both be asserting their dominance and would be uncomfortable being submissive. So all this "gay happens with lions" is false

Actually male lions hand reared by humans in private game reserves have been known to abandon alpha mentality. Just look at Kevin Richardson's lions. They may not actually be mating. They could just be friends or brothers.
