Agreed. I went to a concert recently and that's what I did. I did however shoot a short video when the guitarist played the national anthem like Jimmy Hendrix.
I never take selfies anyway, but at concerts or at any event, I take two pictures maximum. I don't see anything wrong with that, just capturing the memory, but people who are on their phones non-stop. That's a tad annoying.

We are unfortunately a "pics or it didn't happen" society now
Yeeesss! I admit I take a short video of a favorite song maybe but i have seen people take selfies, take videos of themselves singing and just plain look at facebook. It is distracting when they have the giant phone and bright light. So annoying. Why pay for a concert!?
It's a constant struggle for me... I'm going to a Coldplay concert in August and I'm actually really struggling to decide what im gonna dooooo... (If you don't know what their concerts look like google "coldplay live 2012")
Was just at Disney world. People spend thousands of dollars to go take selfies and record fireworks and the rides rather than enjoying the experience. Had several people with video flash on during fireworks and coasters, wanted to friggin hit them for being so rude to everyone.
My first concert was Taylor Swift RED tour and i took hundreds of pics, i even thought about angle, light and everything so my pics all looked like from a pro camera BUT i realized i didnt remember how the concert felt like. So on my second concert, her 1989 tour i didnt take any pic. Zero pic. I only took two pics wayyy before it started. The result: i remember the concert very well and how it felt like, i thought i couldve just asked my friends about the concert photos.
I go to a lot of concerts but I'm 5'1 so I just hold my arm up with my phone while taking a video so I can watch them later. I wish I could just have fun but I can never see over the people in front of me
