but the consequence is you have to abandon your life and either flee or go to prison or kill yourself. Those are all possible consequences. Even if you get away wih it, you have to live with what you have done and in the fear that someone will find out... also a consequence
Good question.. like if I choose to got to the gym and I feel healthier... I'm going to have to live with the consequences.. probably long than your murder thing..
It's paradoxical because having the "freedom" of the choice limits your freedom because you are accepting some form of consequence. The only way to be free of consequence is not to be able to choose or giving up your freedom
Only if you let the consequence daunt you. You aren't always choosing the action you take for the consequence, you're choosing the action because it's one you are willing to take.
However, regardless of whether you choose for the consequence or not, you are not free from the consequence and thus not truly free which is the point of the post.
I'm free to kill someone.
And the consequence is prison.
What if I just shoot myself? No prison.
I'm free from the consequence.
Checkmate.
I'm free to kill someone and the consequence is prison.
I never get caught. No prison.
More murdering time.
Checkmate.
