I think people say that for the social aspect, but shit's so restrictive in high school that you can't do anything fun. No shooting, no forging, no welding, ect. You bring a 3/4" knife accidentally and you get a two month suspension. Gotta be in a club to be acknowledged (not that I minded because flying low is the way to go). I think my best time is college or middle school because middle school had so few responsibilities but college has so much freedom.
To be fair it was a really small high school. I think the amount and selection of extracurriculars was perfect for its size. But I really really want to learn metalworking and I've got almost nothing.
Yeah I get this actually, drove a kid I knew (only by name and face) to suicide as graduation drove closer. According to his suicide note, he wasn't ready for the responsibilities that came with it and expectations of his parents, being pushing him out of the house as soon as he got a job to provide for himself. Though I don't agree with the suicide, I get it, when I graduated, I went through this whole "what now" phase before adjusting to the adult life.
I mean they are. However I understand some people have a rough time at highschool in the social aspect so in that case yes, it gets better. But you are young, have fun. I made friendships that are now decades long and it is great
