It's venomous, not poisonous. Something that's poisonous means it's toxic to eat - like a poison dart frog.

It's pretty important. If you don't know the kind of snake that bit you, the hospital won't be able to give you the right antivenom.

The top snake is of the pit viper family. Not all venomous snakes belong to the pit viper family (sea snakes, coral snakes ect)

If it's menacing, it's venomous, if it's friendly, it's not venemous

You have to check for loreal scale to determine it, not by their belly scales
