Not just an amazing movie, it was a role and performance that earned Tom Hanks an Academy Award. It also won Best Picture, Best Director for Robert Zemeckis, Best Adapted Screenplay for Eric Roth, Best Visual Effects, and Best Film Editing.
Not only that, but in 2011, the Library of Congress selected Forrest Gump for preservation in the United States National Film Registry as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
@potassiumboron is everything smitty said isnt enough, this movie is also a comedy gem in my opinion. A heart breaking, heart warming, comedy gem. I dont know how it is all those things, but it is.
I have Dyslexia and it kills me to know that my own kid could have it as well. I use to cry from all the problems I have when I was in school. So to think my little angel might have to face the same problems kills me. I know it is not like what Forrest has but when I first saw this movie I knew exactly why he was choking to get the words out.
I'm sorry for everything you've gone through, just know that since you have been through this you can make it a lot easier on your own child/ren and maybe try and educate teachers and other parents on the subject, in the end just having his parents and teachers support will help him/her a lot, as he/she will understand that it is not their fault.
Good luck
I think she was a girl who had a hard life and no matter how hard she tried to run from her pain she realized she could never run far enough or fast enough. In the end she realized that she shouldn't of run away from her problems what she should of done was run to the one person that made her feel she had no problems. It just took her to long to figure that out.
