Well there's "find my iPhone", where another phone on the same plan can tell the lost phone to make a pinging noise. It can also lock the phone, erase the data on it, and locate it via gps.

You Can also do it with a computer. You just need the Apple-id/login

Log into iCloud on another computer or phone and log into your apple account. You can make it ring.

Calling it if it's on silent is pointless and that's what this post is informing people, that if your phone is on silent you can switch it to ring

Omg android idiots... Find my iPhone has existed for quite a while now. You can do it from another iPhone or from your PC or even from an android phone. Like why even mention something like that? Everyone is people and they have their own tastes, whether it be in phones, gender, food whatever. Atop being a judgmental dicktard.

Android had the same thing as find my iPhone, but on find my iPhone it uses GPS to locate it not switch it to ring if it's on silent....

Find my iPhone was originally made to find a lost or stolen phone. The Pinging feature if for when it is lost at home

Your phone vibrates

Unless of course you are home alone. It also causes it to ring at full volume for 5 minutes, regardless of if its on silent. The only way to turn it off is to hit the power button when its found.
