Miracle is just a term, for an extremely unlikely event. Cancer is very difficult to treat, even with today's technology, and recovery is usually quite unlikely.

Actually guest is right. Just looked it up, miracle refers to something divine, inexplicable by nature or science. So yeah, that's no miracle, that's medical science, baby.

But there is a difference between the definition and how we actually use the word. Like "ironic" or "literally".

Definitions can change over time. And definitions can also vary between dictionaries.

That's true. Definitions definitely change and time is the biggest huge factor, but social level, region, race, and even families play a roll into what words mean, and whether certain words are appropriate or not.
