I literally hate when parents do this, especially in front of the person they are talking about. I work at a supermarket as a cashier and numerous times parents have said this in front of there kids "You better study well or you'll be like this girl". I have come so close to screaming, but i always smile and say "Actually I'm studying at university and paying my way through." They always ignore it and carry on lecturing their children. However, even if their children work at a supermarket or pick up trash, they still can be good people.
I heard something similar the other night at the store from some tourist, they told their kid that being a farmer was almost as bad as being a sanitation worker! Funny how everybody loves having their garbage hauled away, having milk to drink and hamburgers, steaks, eggs to eat but the work involved is below them. Joke is on them this farmer is DONE WITH IT ALL! I'm keeping just enough for myself and shutting the rest down.
I'm burnt out from milking 150+ cows myself, and I broke my left arm recently after an incident involving a ladder. On top of all that they found something in my head during a routine ct scan after my fall.
Thanks, I had noticed some problems in the last two months like my right eye randomly acting up and falling asleep as soon as I'd sit down (not normal for me) and my temper being a lot quicker than normal. I'm going for an mri in the morning to see the extent of this thing and decide what can be done if anything, at this point though I'm just as inclined to let it take me out as I am to fight it.
It sucks that there are parents like this who think that a person working an 'undesirable' job must have flunked high school or something like that. They dont realize that hardworking and smart students have to pick up those types of jobs because the cost of college is super expensive. It's very likely their own child that they push to study will take one of the jobs they think they are too good for in the future. Judgmental people make me so angry
