Seriously the treatment of Japan in WW2, do the words Death March ring any bells. Japan was the aggressors in the war, the one that was 70 years ago. Personally I've never heard anything about it being a slur. Of course the only people I've ever heard use it were in their 70s or 80s and they care what they say.
