Some Guy in my materials composites class brought in a friends helmet that was hit with an ak47 bullet the bullet went through it but because of the way the matrix was engineered it redirected the bullet to the top of the helmet so the dude didn't die

Yea and they can go through the helmet and into the head but be slowed down enough to live
