Just for fun, I want to start a website to buy up all the tickets and then sell them for just a tiny bit more, so that people can get actually decent priced tickets, other ticket scalpers fail, and I still get a small profit.

Wait. You want to give people decent priced tickets, so you sell them for more than the original price?

Indeed. The legal limit for reselling tickets in Canada and the US is around $1-2 more, so that's what it would be. Admittedly, it would still be scalping, but would you rather pay $47 or $180 for a $45 ticket?

Can someone do a tl;dr?

tl;dr: Sites like StubHub buy tickets from ticketmaster as soon as they come out at a cheap price, and resell them for like 5X the amount. And it's all legal because ticketmaster allows it.

I really hate how expensive tickets are, but another reason they're so expensive is because people resale their tickets on stubhub and because stubhub has to make money, they have to take a percentage of the ticket price. Idk about livenation and other stuff though because they're super sketch. Please correct me if I'm wrong about anything. The ERS tickets have been on sale for a while now also. There are definitely some people/sites/groups that buy out a bunch of tickets to resell them at ridiculous prices and there are people who will purposely buy extra tickets so they can sell them, but there's also two sides to everything.
