What's so wrong about that, though? There will always be people that will want to use the true blue instruments, but then again computers are a new instrument.
If this is in reference to using computers to alter the artists voice then yes I completely agree that lacks any talent, however if this refers to edm and techno etc. Then I have to disagree, a profound knowledge of music is crucial to creating music that sounds good using a computer and anyone that says otherwise has no idea how that type of music is made. Computers aren't magic and it takes a lot of skill to learn the programs needed to do any type of art on a computer.
What is your opinion on using a computer to practically create a voice? Vocaloids are basically pre-recorded vocal clips of a syllable or less that people use to make beautiful songs, such as Circus-P's 'Lie', Neru's 'Lost One's Weeping' and Total Objection's 'Remote Paranoia'. Completely terrible stuff can be made too, but that's the same with anything, from a guitar to the Unity engine.
Those are fine as the person piecing together those clips needs nearly all the same knowledge as an actual vocalist would, although they don't need the mechanics of actually singing. It's funny that you mentioned the Unity engine, I'm using that to create gamed at my internship right now xD.
There's always been crap music. It just gets forgotten because it's crap. The only people who think all music "back in the day" was great are the people who didn't live through those days and struggle through all the crap music.
music is already dead. its just a bunch of autotuned, repetitive bullshit. singers focus more on looking sexy for the cameras then actual music quality, and they only sing about fucking cuz thats what gets ppl horny and more likely to buy the music. if bohemian rhapsody came out in 2016, people would think it was garbage
It was like that in every decade. Queen were big in the eighties and nineties and look how much horrible music was popular at that time too! There always was good music. There always will be!
