Neither. Rural doesn't automatically equal racist hillbillies and urban doesn't automatically equal open-minded sophistication. However, internet anonymity does equal assholes being assholes.
Its not always people getting more racist as maybe its just people getting more sensitive. This social wave of political correctness is just cancer and is just causing arguements than showing that we are all just human. There are no different types of human. Thats just something people tell themselves so that they feel special. Doesn't matter if your gay, straight, transgender, black, or vegan. Your just a human. Kind of went off topic but just stating my thoughts on the whole issue.
or people are becoming more open about it.... I'm a med student (UK) in a family medicine practice, two weeks ago was the first time I experienced a racial slur. This was just after the whole Britain leaving EU "Brexit", I believe there are more people who have racial tendencies, it's just when opportunities arise for them to express it that it becomes more obvious.
Rural areas? I would say urban areas are more racist. A black cop shoots a black criminal in Milwaukee, and the blacks riot and pull white people out of their cars to beat up. And the black community activist calls for an end to the riot...because it's damaging black people's homes, and she wants the riots to move to the suburbs so white people's homes can be destroyed.
