i would argue that they're not, in fact, part of the skeletal system. its primary roles are support, movement, protection. can't see teeth doing any of these things, except the last one and even for that you'd have to use other bones (and muscles attached to bones) to use the teeth for defense purposes.
besides, if you look at a skull, the teeth sit in their socets in the mandible and maxilla. they're not attached by muscles or tendons but with special fibrous goo or whatever. no other bone is kept in place in a similar way. basically teeth are just... organs except they're hard as fuck instead of slushy and floppy.
thinking back, it might have not been a good idea to challenge me on this subject, eh? *gives the "it's all cool, bro smile&nudgeTM"*
but i am a fucking expert. :D surely there are other experts who consider them to be a part of the skeletal system but i do not. can we politely agree to disagree?
You... You... You can't disagree to facts. That's like your wife telling you she's pregnant and you saying "I disagree". As the first guest said, they are not bones, but are apart of the skeletal system. The skeletal system is more than just bones, dear.
teeth being or not being part of the skeleton is not a /fact/. it's a matter of definition. people have always disagreed on definitions and they'll continue to do so. my imaginary wife saying she's pregnant is only a fact if a gynecologist confirmes it, using proof (ie an US pic of the fetus). i've explained why i believe teeth are not part of the skeleton but that's not proof that they're not, it's just a way to look at the problem. know what i mean?
oh and i'd greatly appreciate if you could please tell me what the fuck is skeletal system if not just bones. did you mean cartilage? blood in the bone marrow? because that's hairsplitting and it doesn't make you right.
also, i provided arguments to support my point of view. meanwhile, you people just keep /claiming/ things. what's up with that?? do yout think that everything you utter is an undebatable fact?
you just licked your teeth
*edit
didnt notice the title
