You can try to defend her all you want, but there were very specific phrases in order that mirrored Michelle's speech. The only different was that Melania said "to keep promises" rather than "to keep your word". You can say it's just a few words, but plagiarism isn't justifiable.

I read that Michelle was a big inspiration to her and the people that helped her write her speech told her to use parts of the speech.

She is simply not suited for the position. She does not have the dignity that Michelle Obama has.

So. I think this would have been okay had she correctly quoted from the speech itself. My political stance aside, like, in college papers we can quote sources and opinions from people, and so long as it's done correctly it's fine. Same applies to this. She didn't quote it properly, and that shows that no one proof reads, they thought everyone would think it was original, or they thought she could get away with it or something.

The longer this remains an issue, the more convinced I am that one of her speechwriters was put up to this.
