We all are, even in Canada, because of the past usage of imperial, like an 8.5x11 sheet of paper, used in every office everywhere.

I believe all imperial units have been defined in metric ones for a long time. When calibrating American instruments, they refer to the kilogram in Paris, not to any specific "Standard Pound" stored in a Washington vault.
