Either she can't hear you or it's just code for you to come to her

Or she bangs on my door and when I open it no ones there

Mine talks to me when I'm in the bathroom taking care of business...
"No, mom, not now. I'm showering/whizzing/taking a dump, I'll talk to you when I'm out of the bathroom, ok?"
and on she goes...

Or when she starts talking and mid sentience she just stops
