It's different, so I like it. I don't want the same Joker every time, and I certainly don't want someone to try imitating what Ledger did. Not every interpretation is going to quite fit your ideal Joker or my ideal Batman, but that's fine.
Ugh you guys fuck off with this judgmental bullshit. Have you even see the movie? If yes, did you like it? If not, shut up with the judging until after you've seen it. Jared Leto has proven himself many times as a great actor but you'll shun the entire movie because of a few tattoos and silver teeth? Oh give me a break.
(Ledger fanboys who keep comparing the two even though they are both quite different approaches to the character of Joker are the worst.)
I think the gold *(silver in the movie) teeth is kind of a good idea, it seems likely that the Joker would have lost some teeth from fighting Batman and he needs them replaced. What other way would Joker (especially this Joker) get his teeth replaced than in "style"
Before watching Suicide Squad, I held my tongue because I hadnt yet seen him play the joker and I thought it was unfair to judge him according to Heath Ledger's Joker when it was pretty obvious that the whole production was focused on making him a very specific kind of Joker (if you read the comics, then you know there are many variations of the joker) After watching Suicide Squad, I found myself a bit disappointed, since a lot of the scenes seemed rather forced, but I still think he did well and that the amount of rejection he's received clashes with the amount of work he clearly put into the character.
They also cut A LOT of his scenes apparently so it's not really his fault that all the hype he's been building up around getting into character didn't really get delivered in the like three scenes he was in.
I never noticed the gold teeth tho. That is kind of strange
.
UPDATE TO CLARIFY: He makes an amazing, fresh Joker. I mean he, as an actor, is very very creepy
Even *I* am above sending people pig carcassas and used condoms.
