its mostly due to the lack of caring for local elections. and you can see that in the poll numbers. the percentage of people that vote for congress is crazy low.
not all congressional elections are at the same time, second comment you have been wrong on in this post,, please just stop you are making yourself look ignorant
They are every two years and 3 years you douche. Half of the house is up for re-election with every presidential election cycle and half of the senate syncs up every 12 years. Where is my second perceived error? Are you a Schumer fan? He has been misrepresenting my state for too damned long. Congresspersons get the same lifetime health benefits as railroad workers, and it is a great plan. If a congressperson is indicted and loses their seat they can still collect benefits. (NY allows this too). The feel good reason is that the family should not be punished. That should be an additional deterrent, your criminal activity will put your family into the poorhouse. Care to make an intelligent statement or just more personal insults?
Among other things. He reps the whole state but focuses all his time and attention on NY City. They have 8 million plus voters and the rest of us are only 7 million. He has been elected 5 or 6 times without winning most of the counties. The City is enough to keep him in for around 30 years now. He is also a nanny statist and wants to govern every aspect of our lives as possible.
We need more than term limits, a three term limit would cost us more because one term is all that is needed for these asshats to draw a lifetime pension and lifetime Cadillac healthcare plans. Abolish those perks, then institute term limits. The only problem remaining is how do you control the lame ducks that can get away with anything?
So who would u recommended take there place? We would have another election and the same thing would happen even if we put term limits on. The same type of people would be elected. People hate congress but refuse to vote
I was going to ignore this but I came back, I disagree with this statement and I'll tell you why. The term limit in my opinion is a terrible thing because, undoubtedly it will end up like this terms presidential election. If president Obama could run again he would win no question about it but because of the term limit set in place The United States will likely decline even further in most governmental aspects and will likely end in civil war. Without the term limit so long as a precedent was doing well and was liked by the majority of the voting population: he/she could continue to PROPERLY run the country.
Honestly, Obama would be fine over either of the two running, but a term limit is still necessary. What if it was Romney or Bush? We can't just let someone hold an office for so long.
That's to grant people the opportunity to continue in office, people can vote someone else in. That's the point of a vote every 4 years, if a presedent was bad a better one can be voted in... Or so says the government
They on the same team .every 4 years were supposed to get a new fuck head to continue the same agenda as the last one... ...slowly tightening the chain that is around our neck
You should probably read exactly what an executive order is and what it can pertain too. While they do not require congressional approval, both Congress and the Senate can overturn an order and the orders themselves can be overturn by the judicial branch if they are deemed to be " unsupported by statute or the Constitution".
It is not a "Carte Blanche" that the president can use to do whatever he wants.

While there is no list of just repealed or revoked EOs, if you have the time or inclination to look at them, this site does provide tables that show EOs, who issued them what they cover and their current disposition.

The whole point being there are limits to what POTUS can do with an EO. Here is a good article that explains it in reasonable terminology.
