It should have said their caste wasn't allowed *access* to the water. Most locations become more and more off-limits the lower you are born. Smh.

Large parts of India still have the caste system in effect. This means the lower your social status, the more you suffer from discrimination. Certain people will only ever interact with people of the same caste and deny those of a lower caste access to basic facilities.

There was also an Indian man who carved a road out of a mountain to shorten the distance between the nearest hospital and his village. He did it because his wife died and if the doctor had gotten to her quicker, she would have survived. He wanted to make sure no on else had to suffer the same fate
