Aren't there different kinds of Muslims that absolutely hate eachother?
Like the Suuni and the Shia or something?

All muslims love each other but it's just the bad ones that spread hate. Sunni and Shiite respect each other and treat others like family, and christians and jews too. But it's just that terrible humans do terrible acts and blame it on a religion.
Edit: (sorry if I offend anyone)
The Sunnis and Shiites have been fighting each other since Mohammed came down from the mountain. Yes, there are different subsets of Islam that all think they are the one true followers. Yes, Muslims will and do kill each other. No, there is no way to reason with such fanaticism.
In fact @littlemermaid, the word "assassin" comes from the Arabic "hashashin", which was used to describe the Nizari Ismailis, an 11th century branch of Shia Islam who were at war with Sunni Islam, and developed guerilla warfare tactics to sneak in and murder their enemies - other Muslims.
So yes, ISIS would, in fact, kill other Muslims, and do, if they thought they were infidels.

There are two seperate types of muslims in my town, both hate each other A HECK LOAD. So much so they'll hit groceries out of each others hands and stuff if they see each other at stores. It gets really tense sometimes. Explain that fam.
Yep. For what it's worth, and before anyone starts whining we're picking on Muslims, other religions are that way too. Catholics and Protestants in Ireland for instance. I've heard of Jewish sects fighting each other. Hell I read something awhile back about Buddhists having knife fights!
Dude, if you were at least as smart as a wet loaf of Wonder Classic White, you'd have quickly googled what shia islam is and WHEN it occured, before even corroborating that bullshit. Aaand... here we are.
From what I understand one main sect believes the top Muslim leader should be voted in, the other main sect believes it's an inheritance/lineage only position. I'm sure there's more but I had to excuse myself from hearing grown men justify the attacks on "backwards" Muslims. The news never shares this strong self-hate when bragging about this religion of "unity".
"What in hell are you even yapping about now?" - the simple and easily verifiable fact that shia islam followers are those who believe that Mohammeds son-in-law was his righteous successor. As in "Mohammed was dead at that time and didn't come down any mountain then".
So could you please elaborate on the actual meaning of your "rhetorical" figure "since Mohammed came down from the mountain", please?
.
You still haven't googled what shia islam is and when it first occurred and what the name means and shit, have you?
In fact I've studied Islam and it's history.
Let me try to use small words for you.
The legend is that Mohammed received the word of Allah from the angel Gabriel, in a cave, on a mountain.
My reference to Mohammed coming down from the mountain was an allusion (you can google the meaning of that one on your own) to the beginnings of Islam.
The Shiites and Sunnis have been fighting about which are the true followers of Islam practically since the beginning. Thus, referring to Mohammed coming down from the mountain is a reference to the beginnings of Islam.
Really, there is mental health help readily available; you only have to ask.
The word "Shia" derives from the arabic "Shīʻatu ʻAlī" which translates as "Followers of Ali". The shia followers were of the opinion, that late (!) Mohammed's rightful successor was his son-in-law Ali, which brought them into conflict with other followers of the late (!) Mohammed, who preferred another successor and denied the suggestion, that Mohammed personally named a successor at all. So how could there even be followers of Shia when Mohammed was still alive and well, when coming down that mountain?
.
Where exactly did you study "Islam and it's history"? At Trump University?
I just reread my comment. It looks like I said "practically the beginning". I'm afraid I'm not seeing a point here. Is it just incoherent insults on your end?
The beginning is Mohammed coming down this mountain and founding islam. The separation of shia and sunna took place one generation after he died. To insist you got that right is trumpish. All I'm saying. Now go ahead and call me names.
For a religion that's been around for thousands of years, one generation's worth in time is not worth throwing a fit over.
It's certainly close enough to the founding any enduring conflicts from that time can be considered to have been going on since the beginning.
And don't use Trump's name as an insult, it only makes you sound stupid.
Hahah that escalated a little too quick for guestwho above, thank you for calling us living, breathing, normal humans fanatics. Nice to know.
funsubstanceuser, forget it, don't engage. This website has a lot of anti-Islam feel here. You'll always be downvoted and insulted if you try to explain something to people who've "studied Islam and it's history," even our scholars spend their entire lives learning Islam and Islamic law and still remain mere humans.
Also jbtw, since you've studied Islam, guestwho, this fanatic appreciates that you got the episode of the first revelation at the Cave of Hira, correct. The other though, nah. Funsubstanceuser is correct about that part. Have a good day y'all.
"For a religion that's been around for thousands of years, one generation's worth in time is not worth throwing a fit over. " - First of all its not even around 2000 years. Then clearly there's the time before shia vs. sunna and a time after. Mohammed founded islam about 610 and died 632. The events taking place after his death only caused open aggression and thus separation of the islam community in the 650s, thats another twenty years later. The beginning of islam and the escalation of shia/sunna conflict are completely seperate from each other. There may have been underlying conflicts, but the schism of islam was another period. To deny that is like saying the 2nd world war and the korea war are practically the same, because its just a few years after.
.
To just ignore all that and deny plain and simple facts is what Trump does every trumping day, so I will use his name as an insult whenever the trump I find it appropriate. Trump y'all.
When one is talking about a couple thousand years, a fucking generation's separation is still the founding as close as makes no difference.
Would it offend your delicate sensibilities less, princess, if I specified that the fighting has been taking place since the tribes separated?
Or perhaps you require an exact date for the initial disagreement?
The whole point of this thread was that Muslims HAVE AND DO kill each other. I suppose you have some sort of narcotic induced objection to that statement as well, but oh well.
I hope, for your sake, your caretaker returns soon and gives you your long overdue medication. Good night, and God bless.
People need to understand that Daesh is not Muslims but extremists and racists

Everybody knows they don't represent islam but they are definutely islamic. Just because KKK were shitty christians doesn't mean they werent christian. They were average people turned extreme just like daesh.
For one, kids tend to be more open-minded. Like I said, children's media is showing lgbt+ characters more and more (like the two moms on Good Luck Charlie). Being gay is quickly becoming an accepted thing among the world's youth. How are kids NOT more exposed to it than their parents were?
It's probably about the same because it's in the news, TV and society in general quite bit nowadays. You might have been right 10-20 years ago, but at least the younger adults of today are quite exposed to that stuff.
Okay. Let me reword this because I think you're misinterpreting what I mean. Children and young adults have been raised in a much more accepting society than their parents. For example, there's more gay people in the media than there were 10 years ago and I'm not sure how you can dispute that. As a result, adults tend to be less accepting of lgbt+ stuff than today's youth. Not all of them, but certainly a larger portion than the younger population.
"I'm not sure how you can dispute that."
I didn't.
"certainly a larger portion than the younger population."
Sure, but I'd say the younger half of adults nowadays grew in mostly LGBT positive environments. It's not fair to paint the vast majority of (religious) adults as anti-gay.

La Beouf.

But it's darned true.

Duly noted, but that's not relevant.
I didn't.
