Sure, but would he just announce it to some reporter? Also the way the question was phrased makes it sound like Obama is the one initiating the nuclear war. You're right though.
You could at least communicate that there are plans ready to be set in motion should such a disaster come to pass, instead of looking at a reporter as though he's some kind of retard.
Maybe it was a really out-of-the-blue question that didn't belong?? Whatever it is, there's no point criticizing him now. It's not like he'll retract that facial expression.
No, it isn't.
Plans have been in place for preventing and winning nuclear war since the 40's, every nuclear power knows that the rest have plans for beating them.
It's not a threat, not a boast, just a simple fact of post-WWII life.
That's the whole point of deterrence, nobody will attack anybody because everyone knows that everyone else has a plan to take them out.
As horrific as it sounds, it's what keeps the political and military worlds spinning.
As a black democrat, I actually don't think racism exists (outside of those crazy rednecks. I mean it's not actually harder for blacks). Sure, some people may not support Obama because he's black, but it wouldn't be all over the news "This President is Black! Hate him!" They would find a way to make fun of him, as people do with every candidate, but you can't blame that on racism. That's just part of being president.
I just hate that a lot of people didn't even listen to what he had to say, they just voted for him because he was black. I don't hate him because he's black, I just hate his policies.
I wholeheartedly agree. Sure some people (of every color) are racists; hell it's human nature. Some people hate Brussels sprouts. But true bigots are very rare.
I, for one, have never seen a "black" man when I look at Obama; I see a Democrat. If anything he's the same color as the Clintons; as Elizabeth Warren and Harry Reid; or as George Soros, Saul Alinsky, and Bill Ayers - Red.
@guestwho How did your list get love and mine hate? What are the odds that people thought I meant Amy and have no fuckig clue who Chuck is? I hate her too though.
That's OK; we're all tired of his shit too!
And he's chill? Have you never seen the motherfucker do a press conference where he's blaming Republicans for something? That's the only time he gets animated, but he hates us and it shows.
I like to listen to other people's opinions. I don't care what you believe in as long as it doesn't endanger anyone else's lives. That's why I let people believe whatever religion they want, and I just stay quiet. When people like guest who come on they just say everything about them and they're never open to discussion. I'm willing to talk to anyone, even Donald Trump, as long as it can stay civil.
@banana you know damn well I'm not unwilling to listen to others' opinions. I have had civil discussions with a number of users here, including you.
Yes I believe what I believe, but the fact is I have come to my beliefs over the course of many years and with actual research into the various topics; or, unlike so many young users here, I have actually lived through it.
I have never been one to simply take what I'm told just because I was told; especially on topics of religion and politics. This character trait caused me more than a little bit of friction with parents, pastors, and professors growing up, but at least I can be confident I generally know all sides of a given subject of conversation. Since I have studied and drawn my own conclusions on various topics I may be steadfast, but I certainly am not closed-minded.
Now, what would you like to talk about my dear?
Anything. I'd like to know why you hate the president so much, if I have to be specific, but I'd appreciate it if you kept insults about my intelligence out of it.
No not intentionally. I do funsubstanceuser because, well, there's really no talking to him and it's kinda fun, but I really do try to stay civil unless incivility is called for.
Like I said a few comments ago I'm usually set in my positions but only because I really have looked at both sides, but that doesn't mean I don't still like a fresh perspective. There have been times someone has presented an argument I hadn't thought of, but even if not I enjoy a spirited, friendly, debate.
Really? For some reason I was having trouble getting the link to work. I tried like 6 or 7 times before it came up and I did all that for a fucking badum tiss!?!?
If I had a tomato I'd throw it at you!
Don't forget to tip your waiter.

Maybe it's Jimmy Buffett fans who misunderstood?
