Did it end on a cliffhanger and hint to something darker?

Yup, it was a one shot story but it didn't have to end in that one shot, so I added loads of small details on the characters left unexplained and did a pretty big cliffhanger.
The teacher begged me for the end ahah
Then there's secret codes hidden in the credits. One of the characters has strange tendencies, but it's never addressed. Parts of the plot seem to align perfectly until you look at them closer. Endless romantic tension between two major male characters. A new character is constantly hinted at but never mentioned.
Part of the reason I stipple watching the monogatari series was cuz of crap like this, now that they've finally released kizumonogatari I might start again though
