They say going to a sauna is supposed to help, you sweat out the toxins more quickly. Also, from my aunt (successful quitter) "find something to do with your hands!" Keep on it though, have patience with yourself but don't go back to smoking more once you've started smoking less. Good luck!
Try this, I have never seen this method but it may be helpful, grab some nicotine patches or gum, remember the outcome and what you want to get out of this, whenever you feel like grabbing an extra one, call someone you love and talk to them until the craving is gone, you can do this! I wish you good luck!!!!! :D
It's a hard battle but one that is worth it. I've been quit for 8 month. Every time you get the urge to want to smoke think of it as a little battle will you win or lose that battle it is up to you the more time that goes by the easier it is never give up
I tried both weaning myself and going cold turkey. Cold Turkey is the way to go. It was easier for me to give them up all together than tell myself I couldn't have just one more. Keep trying and figure out what is easiest for you and then stick to that one. Nobody quits the first time! If they did, they were never addicted in the first place.
I agree with kayt, too. We use smoking as crutch, try and replace it by doing something productive.
I quit three years ago from being an occasional social smoker- Haven't touched them since. Now the smell is nauseating and I am proud of being smoke free! Coming from my mom who started when she was 16 and smoked 3packs/day for over 30 years- I couldn't stand ending up with the same issues she's got now. Quit for your family, your friends, but quit mainly for you!! Stay strong! You can do it!!
I quit cold turkey and didn't tell anyone until they started noticing, not telling was my way of not having to answer how is it going, now I finding it a disgusting habit, and can't stand the smell,,,,but my main question is who else had the dreams or nightmares while quitting where you wake swearing you just smoked one, the seriously was the worse part in my opinion for something to be that addictive is crazy,,,plus side my quitting encouraged my father and 4 cousins to do it too
I still have Crazy dreams . I wake up pissed that I was smoking..but then i celebrate cause I still don't .on a different note food taste amazing since I quit
I'm with ya buddy.
For me I have been smoking half cigarettes everytime I smoke and trying to cut down how often I go outside to smoke. Bad days can make you back track sometimes, but try and stay determined even if you slip up!
Thanks!
Thats a tough one for me. But I do try and think of how much healthier I would be in general if I quit yesterday, a month ago, a year ago ect.
I think my toughest challenge is the fact that I often hang out with smokers.
every friend and the majority of my family do . I know what you mean. But if you can somehow defeat those battles those are truly the hardest ones therefore they will make you a stronger individual.. also one of the rewards for not smoking is your taste buds change and food magically becomes delicious everything you eat taste amazing, well in my situation it does I have now discovered there are foods that once did not like but now I find they are my 1 of my favorite's

Thanks for the tips, honestly. They are gonna ring in my head and haunt me until I kick this bad habit =]
