Anthocyanin gives raspberries and blackberries their color. It doesn't have too much use, except for those new dye sensitized solar cells. I hope it's not an oxidant, because it wouldn't be too good for you in that case.
All black tomatoes contain high amounts of anthocyanin. Heirloom black tomatoes have been around for over 100 years. I highly doubt the entirety of Britain has never grown a black tomato until now.
