My statements:
1:20-- Don't change things if they don't need to be changed. Classroom content is of much greater value than classroom structure (but it's still important)
1:50-- As far as I know, no class under college has a system where only [x] get an A, [y] get a B, and everyone else gets a C. There is no competition, only personal merit
2:45-- Some things must be learned. No ifs, ands, or buts. There is a base standard for education for a reason.
This seems like I'm totally against what he said which I'm not.
I completely agree that the educational system needs a reform, especially for protection of teachers, holding teachers to a higher standard, and better pay.
This is the second video that ive seen this guy make. He does a great job of convincing people that they're somehow victims to some master plan. The problem is that Victim Road is slippery sloap that leads to unhappyness and submediocrity. We're humans. We LOVE to feel justified because it feeds our ego. That justification is at the foundation of why we (people) actually enjoy feeling like victims. Its a lot more difficult to accept the fact that the world is unfair and imperfect, and the only power you truely have is how you choose to deal with the things that happen to you. The US education system is flawed, ther is no question. But it will ultimately produce both successful people and failures. The reality is that YOU get to choose which one of thos you are going to become, not the system.
