We have a lot more important things going on besides sports, don't dilute yourself so much to
believe in a pastime. Humans love leisure, we even have others running around for us
Before a person can decide if something is important to them, thay first have to decide what they are trying to achive in life. If someone out there wants to achive happiness, and they find it in sporting events, how can that be a bad thing. Would you think the same way if this were a post about art?
People don't/can't all have the same goals in life.
It's one thing if football was a necessity. But these college students are dirt poor and scraping their barrels trying to pay off debt. It's not even a benefit to the players, since they're not getting paid a cent.
People pay to watch football, not for college students, that's like saying; oh Netflix makes so much money we should give it all to the poor, yah it sounds great in theory, but nobody is giving up their Netflix money for that
The thing is that Netflix isn't associated with government or any school. But the teams are owned by the college. The college builds stadiums. The college reaps the profit.
In communist Poland the government paid athletes, auto and motorcycle racers more than 10x more than the average working man to entertain the people. Everybody needs entertainment.
Bread and circuses. A communist country isn't the best place to get support. Especially when the student athletes aren't even getting paid. The coaches are, you could even say 10x more than the average working man.

The world's a bad enough place without people bad-mouthing the things that others enjoy.
People don't/can't all have the same goals in life.
(Sorry, obvious joke. Don't care about UM or college footbal. Or any football)
