And which hot war exactly? Uhm, and about the great economy: China owns you guys. Literally. Your by far most sophisticated technology is handling immigrations in airports which looks like in a sci-fi movie. The rest is a museum at most, except a few niches.
The conversation was about coming out of WWII, not where we are now. We left WWII on a very strong footing and continued until we got complacent (basically into the 90s).
And learn English a little better, that was COLD WAR. THE cold war. The one with Russia.
As far as HOT wars, we've done every one we've been serious about. (Yeah it's been awhile).
Uhm maybe you got me confused with famousone? Whose english really sucks btw, given he's a natural speaker. You're not exactly an english major either, btw. Which makes your bashing a foreigner for his poor english even more classy.
.
And which "serious" hot war did the USA win after WII? The only one that comes to my mind is Grenada. Kudos to you for that! Otherwise you got kicked out or created a situation twice as bad as before. That's winning? Well, then kudos to you for that as well.
There you go failing to read my plain English again. I said every one we've been serious about. Unfortunately, politicians have run practically every military operation since Korea, and have fucked up practically every military operation since Korea. No argument.
I did not confuse you with @famousone since he/she was the one who listed THE COLD WAR and you are the confused soul who started talking about hot wars.

You didn't win the war? It's still debated to this day. Just because you say you won the war doesn't mean you won the war. Just like when you guys say you're against ISIS but bomb Assad and Russian forces from attacking their strongholds.
The war with ISIS is a three way mess.
The enemy of my enemy isn't my friend. We want Assad and ISIS dead, and we can't work with Russia while they're supporting the regime we wanted to get rid of in the first place.
Are you really this stupid or just an ass?
Nevermind, I already know.

I was talking about the cold war. You guys "won" on a technicality. Not really winning. Like I said it's debated. If you speak to refugees they'll tell you they didn't have a problem with Assad. At least the majority say they didn't hate assad.
How is it a technicality when the USSR folded! It was a COLD war; no conventional military operations, so no annihilation of the other guys, but if the US and USSR were involved, and the US was fighting Russian communism economically and philosophically, and Russian communism crashed and burned while America remained, I can't see any way that that wasn't a win.
Now the Syrian issue is another fuster cluck entirely.
Uh, yeah the Soviet Union kinda dissolved a little bit if you haven't noticed.
The USSR/Soviet Union is not Russia. Just like England is not the United Kingdom. And the US is not Washington DC.
Ok @isuck479 you're still missing the point here. Sure things are probably better for Russians (although that could be debated considering Putin and his minions are KGB), but the Cold War was not against Russia. We defeated the Soviet Union.

they... they.... aren't.... KGB... you can argue that you may have won the cold war and with enough evidence I'll accept it. But if you mong out. Ima have to stop you
The Soviet Union is no more.
When the enemy is dead, even if that "death" was economic collapse, then their enemy, the United States and her allies, have won.
It's that simple.
@isuck479 They were KGB when the KGB was the KGB.
The letters may have been changed to the FIS but the people running it are still very much in power. The former lieutenant colonel is still the same man he was 25 years ago, and the posturing and rhetoric we are seeing and hearing right now is exactly how the USSR behaved.
You can take the man out of the KGB, but you can't take the KGB out of the man.
